On August 4th BiSH (the Japanese group known as “the punk band without musical instruments”) releaded their new album GOiNG TO DESTRUCTiON, their music is labeled as Alternative metal, Alternative Rock and PunkRock and it’s definitely clear when you listen to the new album. I can say that true metalheads and punks would absolutely start a fight with you on the fact that this idol group is labeled that way but all I can say is that they do live up to that genre. Alternative Idol, how I would like to call it, is fun and has the great base of good music. You can leave these types of things to the Japanese idol industry. They make good music that’s accessible even for all types of people and the shows are usually even more fun.
BiSH (Brand-new Idol Shit) was formed in January of 2015 as the successor of BiS (Brand-New Idol Society) who had disbanded the year before and auditions were held and in March of the same year the line up was announced. However, their eyes were obscured by black lenses and it was announced that only once they reached 4,444 followers on twitter would they be revealed. One of the members, Yukako Love Deluxe, left before the release of the album and they had to re-record all songs, only leaving Yukako Love Deluxe’s voice in one song, Spark.
As the release of their first album drew closer, the group released the songs on their album for free download causing to have the full album for free download six days before the release but it didn’t stop them from reaching the 20th place on the Oricon’s Weekly Album Chart sales. During their first solo concert on 31 May the five members let the audience know that they would be looking for two more members and that a new single would be released by September. Since then they have again lost and gained a member and so far released five album, 3 EP’s, 10 singles an a total of 9 dvds. BiSH is really a household name.

The album review
I’ve listened to this album and not once did it start annoying me. There’s a good balance between the songs, a nice tempo and difference in the intensity of the songs. So far I can’t pick myself a favorite because I liked them all equally. Though the one song that stood out most was STACKiNG, to me it was obvious that this song was used as the opening theme song to the second season of anime series ‘Kingdom’. Theme songs always have a certain build up in it. In this case it doesn’t make the song worse just because of it. The song on it’s own has it’s own power!
I don’t normally listen to idol groups because I’m partial to male voices, but BiSH really makes me want to start listening to their music, their music videos are also of good quality and I even ended up watching some live shows and I think, besides of how big the group already is with having 479.301 monthly listeners on Spotify, that BiSH can go even further and reach a larger crowd with this album. This album is awesome, and I tell anyone who likes idols, anime music and general good music to give the album a listen.
