Ever since COVID (and my burn out from the beginning of 2021 and ongoing) started there hasn’t been much to do so I have been scouring the internet and finding movies, series and other things to watch and trust me… I watched a lot of movies and series on Netflix. My favorite so far has been Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. This series has a lot of different types of plots and twists that the show keeps being interesting. At least it is so to me.. And then of course I don’t think anyone would mind watching Kim Seon-Ho’s dimples and Lee Sang-Yi’s infectious smile….any way.. below you can find my review of the series. I really binged the entire season.
Plot
When the intelligent and pretty dentist Yoon Hye-Jin (played by Shin Min-A) loses her job after righteously accusing her clinic’s head doctor of expanding patient’ treatments for profit. She is unable to apply at other companies within Seoul due to her head doctors influence. When she was younger she often visited the seaside idyllic town of Gongjin and in her stress she travels there to clear her mind. As she goes for a walk down the beach her very expensive heels are drifted off by a big wave and she goes into full panic mode.
This is how she meets Hong Du-sik (played by Kim Seon-ho) when he returns one of her heels as it drifted onto his surfboard. He helps her out that day as she doesn’t have any money and she plans on staying in the sleepy town. It turns out Hong Du-sik is the towns most loved member and a jack-of-all trades so their paths keep crossing. As time progresses she makes friends and even gains a love interest.

Opinion
10 out of 10
I absolutely loved this show. It has everything you look for. It’s cute, it’s funny and dramatic and I even shed a bunch of tears as the plot continued. I absolutely fell in love with Kim Seon-ho until Lee Sang-yi came into the picture and now I can’t pick who I like more. The characters were diverse and I liked that the entire show shows a bit of all the characters instead of only focusing on the main characters.
If you want something cute and funny but also with some serious topics, do not skip over Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. It’s one of the best viewed series on Netflix so be sure to watch it and tell me what you think about it.
